It began as an off the cuff idea - hey, an art journaling class for books of shadows would be interesting. From there began a journey into the connections between creativity, spirituality and ritual. I was humbled by the number of participants we received for this workshop and their willingness to dive right in and create in so many different ways. Really we just scratched the surface with regards to how art making can be a magickal process.
I feel blessed to have had this communal experience and I am hungry for more. Blessed Imbolc! A time of renewal and breaking the hibernation, though it doesn't feel like it with the crazy mountain weather and flu ripping through the community.
Yet Open Coven moves onward. Open Coven member Liz Watkin has been Observer in Residence for Holler Avl for this first week in February. On February 10th Open Coven will be running a book of shadows art journalling workshop at Raven and Crone. Come by and learn some cool techniques and expand your spiritual practice. More details on our calendar or the Raven and Crone website. |
I'm Liz Watkin I explore witchcraft through embroidery and embroidery through witchcraft!
