Our shop is now stocked with all sorts of goodies for the witch in your life, and yes, that witch can be you :) Self love is important! Zines, tote bags, stickers, shirts. And we also have some yule cards created by collective member LizW. She thought it was a shame that there weren't more pagan and witch themed cards to send during the holidays and so created two designs. One whimsical and one more formal. The cards are available individually or as a bundle of two. We are also thrilled to be selling the tiny zine with big ideas "Witch Tips", created by the wonderful Rayne Klar, AKA Small Small Witch. Rayne Klar is a nonbinary person and an eclectic witch. They are an illustrator, comic artist, and merch maker. Their personal work focuses on queer culture, fantasy, punk rock, bedroom culture and internalized monsters. We reached out to them a while back asking about a zine that we had found in a bookstore here in Asheville that they had created. They agreed to do a special print of them just for us and we are honored. A handy go-to reference for new and more experienced witches. Rayne Klar distills the essence of getting your witch on. A must-have! Buy one for yourself and a friend. Check more of their work here. Finally don't forget our most popular design: "Mountain Witch" is available on totes, stickers and t-shirts. Order your shirts soon as they are selling out fast!

Here it is! The final art magick workshop for 2018. What a great one to end with. In this session we will be turning inward and making art that taps into our intuitive spirit through guided meditation and several automatic drawing practices. It is $25 to participate with all materials included. Together we will create a sacred space for art and community.
We had an amazing time at the Goblin Market! So many cool vendors in a stunning setting. Thank you to everyone who came and supported Open Coven by signing up, taking leaflets or buying something.
It's been a long time in the planning but we are finally ready to launch our online store! On November 4th Open Coven's store will go live, offering items by our collective members and allies. Expect cool shirts and totes as well as zines and other witchy items.
There will be a discount available for subscribers to our email newsletter. So subscribe! It's exciting times for Open Coven as our work gets more noticed and we develop more partnerships. I am delighted to share that I have been chosen as an emerging teacher in Effybird's Book of Days Course for 2019. This incredible course is a collaborative venture with a group of remarkable, talented and spiritual artists from across the globe. We will all be contributing content to a year of art journaling and creativity.
"This is an invitation to spend the year with me and my lusciously delicious guest artists and teachers as we bind our own journals (optional), do a deep dive into art journaling, learn new techniques, explore all the ways we use the art journal, and fill our journals up with gorgeous spreads!" - Effy Wild Effy has been teaching art journaling online for a number of years and has a great following. I am proud and humbled to be part of such an amazing online venture. You can find out more about Studio Effy here. Registration opens on November 1st. Open Coven was formed as an act of defiance in 2016. We knew then things would get bad but we didn't know how bad. We knew we would have to fight for our rights and use everything we had in our means to do so. Everything counts, everything.
Art is magick and art reaches people when rational arguments, theories and logic don't. Download these for free with our most ardent blessings. Don't be silent. Use your magick, fight for all of us of every color, gender and status. The second annual Goblin Market is happening on November 3rd and we are so frickin' excited! Not only is it run by Hawk and Hawthorne and Blood and Spicebush (two ventures we love) but it is going to be a heady mix of vendors, music and ritual.
This year Open Coven will be a vendor, spreading the word on what we do and selling our totes, stickers, Yule cards, t-shirts, zines and spells. The market will be in the afternoon and is free, followed by a ritual celebration in the evening that is ticketed. Find more details here. Over a hundred people took part last year so make sure you get your ticket early! |
